Route All SoftstartRV wires into the electrical box. Then Crimp the connectors on all the SoftstartRV wires as shown in the SoftstartRV box above.
Step 1) Follow the White Compressor wire to “C” Terminal of Run Capacitor. Disconnect it and then plug it into the Blue SoftstartRV wire.
Step 2) Connect the Black SoftstartRV wire on the terminal the white compressor wire was on.
Step 3) Follow the Red Compressor wire to where it connects on the “HERM” terminal. If there is an empty terminal next to the Red Compressor wire, then connect the Yellow SoftstartRV wire on it (see Step 4).
Step 4) IF you see a 2nd Red wire next to the Red compressor wire DISCONNECT it, tape the end and drop it. Then connect the Yellow SoftstartRV wire on the Terminal where you pulled the second Red wire off.
Step 5) Remove the Compressor cap, Disconnect the Black compressor wire and plug it into the Red Softstart wire, Tape the connection.
Step 6) Crimp a Female connector on the Brown SoftstartRV wire and bend it at approximately 45 degrees. Connect it on the terminal that the Black compressor wire came off, with the bend pointing toward the White compressor wire.
Replace the compressor cap and secure the wires to prevent the fan from pulling them in during testing. Turn the Power and A/C breakers on. Turn the Fan on high until you hear it running. Then turn the A/C to Auto Cool and set the Thermostat to 55 degrees. Look for the SoftstartRV Green Light. Note: There may be a Full 3 min delay before the Green Light comes on. When the Green Light comes on, turn the power and A/C off, tidy up your wires and replace all the covers. Turn the A/C back on and set the thermostat to about 2 degrees below the outside temperature. Allow it to run for approximately 30 minutes allowing it to cycle a few times.
IF no Green Light comes on after 4 minutes shut the A/C down and contact Tech Support, www.softstartrv.com/support and fill out a ticket.”
