TURN OFF ALL POWER BEFORE BEGINNING YOUR INSTALLATION
Suggestion: If you cut the Top SoftstartRV flange off you can mount the SoftstartRV high enough to go over the top of the fan capacitor. ALL wire connections should be made BEFORE MOUNTING the SoftstartRV. Mount SoftstartRV as far forward and high as possible.
Step 1) Follow the White Compressor wire to the “C” Terminal of the Run Capacitor. Disconnect it and connect it to the Blue SoftstartRV wire.
Step 2) Connect the Black SoftstartRV wire on the terminal where the White Compressor wire came off.
Step 3) Follow the Red Compressor wire to the “Herm” terminal. If you have an empty terminal next to the Red Compressor wire Connect the Yellow SoftstartRV wire. (see Step 4)
Step 4) IF you see a 2nd Red wire next to the Red compressor wire DISCONNECT it, tape the end and drop it. Then connect the Yellow SoftstartRV wire on the Terminal where you pulled the second Red wire off.
Step 5) Remove the Compressor cap. Disconnect the Black Compressor wire. Crimp a Female disconnect on the Brown SoftstartRV wire and Bend that connector at least 45 degrees. Then connect the newly bent Brown SoftstartRV wire on the terminal that the Black compressor wire came off.
Step 6) Crimp a male disconnect on the Red SoftstartRV wire and Connect it to the Black wire you just removed from the compressor. Tape the connection.
Replace the compressor cap. Secure all loose wires to prevent them from going into the fan during testing. Turn the Power and A/C breaker on and turn the Fan on High until you hear it running. Then Turn the A/C to Auto Cool and set the Thermostat to 55 degrees. Look at the SoftstartRV to make sure you have a Green Light (There may be a FULL 3 min delay before the light comes on).
If you have a Green Light, turn the power and A/C off, replace all covers and then turn the A/C back on, setting the thermostat at about 2 degrees below the outside temperature. Let the A/C run about 30 minutes allowing it to cycle a few times.
IF no Green Light comes on after 4 minutes shut the A/C down and contact Tech Support, www.softstartrv.com/support and fill out a ticket.
